NC MOVES 2050 Statewide Transportation Plan

Background

Public Participation Partners is leading the public involvement planning and implementation for the statewide multimodal long-range transportation plan update. This project aims to create a plan for inclusive, responsive, and diverse transportation system in North Carolina by the year 2050.

 

P3 Deliverables

Public Participation Partners collaborated with NCDOT TPB to develop a statewide public involvement plan and provides oversight for all public outreach activities including:

  • Advertising through transit ads, school art contests, and monthly newsletters
  • MetroQuest and PublicInput.com survey development
  • Notification materials development and distribution
  • Environmental Justice and Limited English Proficiency outreach
  • Event organization and facilitation
  • Translation of printed and online materials

 

Project Highlights

P3 was added as a consultant to the NC Moves 2050 project after the completion of the first project phase. Under P3 leadership, the phase two survey saw a 300% increase in participation statewide and a more equitable demographic representation. P3 then sought to expand the project’s reach even further. Because of P3’s outreach efforts, the phase three survey had over 15,200 participants, a record-breaking number of participants for NCDOT.
