Raleigh Housing Authority Strategic Communications Plan

Raleigh Housing Authority | Raleigh, NC | January 2022 – June 2022

Background

The Raleigh Housing Authority (RHA) serves over 5,800 households at their 16 public housing properties, 106 scattered-site homes, and through Section 8 vouchers in Raleigh, NC. Communication is a key part of conveying important messages to residents and creating safe, healthy, and quality affordable housing. As such, Public Participation Partners is working to help RHA develop a Strategic Communications Plan for internal and external audiences.

P3 Deliverables

P3 is responsible for assessing current practices and conducting a survey of preferences for RHA residents and staff to understand what communication methods are working and identify areas for improvement. In addition to the online survey, P3 will make paper copies of the survey available to residents and facilitate multiple in-person and virtual meetings, as well as a pop-up event, to increase the accessibility of engagement efforts.

Ultimately, P3 will develop a branding and identity guide, social media strategy, and Communications Plan. These deliverables will incorporate the ideas and preferences of both RHA residents and staff and provide recommendations for future communication efforts.
