Trinity Court Redevelopment
Town of Chapel Hill | Chapel Hill, NC | August 2021 – Present
Background
Public Participation Partners (P3) is leading the public and stakeholder engagement efforts for the Trinity Court Redevelopment project. Originally built in 1975, the Trinity Court apartments offered 40 affordable housing units for Town of Chapel Hill residents near Umstead Park. Due to structural inadequacies, the site was vacated in 2018 and is now undergoing redevelopment with the mission of increasing density and affordable housing in Chapel Hill.
P3 Deliverables
P3 is assisting the Town with communicating about the project and collecting feedback from potential residents and stakeholders of Trinity Court. These efforts include:
- Designing branding for the project to make communications easily recognizable
- Developing a phased Public Engagement and Communications Plan to guide the process
- Conducting targeted outreach to those who are most impacted by the project
- Notifying participants of and facilitating virtual public meetings with interactive activities and polls
- Composing, distributing, and analyzing surveys, including monitoring voluntary demographic responses
- Developing and translating meeting notifications and materials into Spanish, Burmese, Karen, and Arabic to help reach individuals with Limited English Proficiency
